The Protective Power of Cash
A Virtual Teach-In on Cash Assistance
March 3, 2025
Join us for a webinar on Cash Assistance, hosted by the Narrowing the Front Door Workgroup and NYC Family Policy Project. This event will provide information on the positive impacts of cash assistance programs. Dozens of research studies have shown that investing in the economic stability of families reduces child welfare involvement––and the New York State Legislature is currently considering a slate of bills to increase families' access to cash support.
During the session, we will explore key topics, including:
The cash bills under consideration in New York, including Guaranteed Income/Direct Cash Transfers, child tax credits and cash assistance.
Learn about ways to engage in cash advocacy to support families.
Understand the growing body of research showing how cash—especially unconditional cash—supports family well-being and reduces child welfare involvement.
